Introducing Visual Studio Code

4th May, 2015|

Microsoft has announced a new addition to the visual studio family.

Visual Studio Code – is a free code optimised editor for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Visual Studio Code combines the streamlined UI of a modern editor with rich code assistance and navigation, and an integrated debugging experience – without the need for a full IDE. Development of the editor is a proactive attempt by Microsoft to allow cross platform support for its range of development tools.

At iWeb we are thrilled to see Microsoft’s strategy that builds a coherent space allowing multiple tools and development kits to be supported on non-native environments. This gives users that are used to platforms such as Mac and Linux the ability to use a development platform in there native environment which will undoubtedly prove to be more productive.
